How do I find a podcast to listen to about values?
I didn't know they existed. Podcasts, sure. Values? I didn't know how to explain them. My go-to, cop-out, external locus was that I didn't remember anyone even explaining them to me. Ever. They were never really an overt topic of conversation. Why not? The more research I did and the more impact I saw that they had, the more I became convinced that they underpinned every interaction between people, societies, and nations.
I traveled around the world, deploying six times in my first military decade. I learned alot. That included looking at how other cultures lived, and seeing how other people created cultures. Game changer. The fact that no matter how many different perspectives; interpretations; languages; and cities I traveled through or interacted with; everyone exhibited their own individual or group values. It never changed. Not once. I think Hammer and Associates Founder Suzanne Hammer, said this point well. She said, "Values aren't about giving to the homeless or helping at a charity. They're the underlying virtures that lead you to those decisions." They develop the character who you become.
